| God, I haven't done this in ages and I always think "y'know, I've got mates on there that I hardly ever see so I really should update and keep in tocu". I just don't seem to have time these days. Infact, haven't a clue when I last updated, but have been constantly busy for basically since New Year.
So, in a nuteshell since New Year. Woke up 1st January 2007. Sat for 3 days smoking weed and contemplating life, the universe and everything. Than had a few days detox and went back to work. Mostly, this year has been a mixture of work, gym, portfolio work and sleep, starting at about 7:30am and finishing about 1am and fuck me do I feel run down.
Things I've done.
Got much better at my job and started making a shitload of money for us (this has been in the last month or so only though). Subsiquently decided that as I was getting better at my job I should stay in Aberdeen. But then stuff happened and I decided fuck it, when it comes to the end of my lease on my flat in July I'm gonna just stick the job and move home with my mum for a while. Sorted myself out with a job down there for a while and have started sticking my cv out to some design agencies. Mostly Glasgow / Edinburgh, but some down in England and Western Europe. Quite exciting really.
Went to Manchester to see Lyndsey (and go to a work training day) which was brief but very much enjoyable and once again added Manchester to my list of "places I widnae mind bidein'".
Went to Amsterdam and spent a weekend in the red light district. Smoked loads of fucking ace weed, sat around by canals drinking fucking ace coffees and watch whores flying around on bikes. Was fantastic.
There was other stuff I've done lately. Cant remember. (lol, thought i'd given myself brain damage after a heavy night on the Buckfast (you may laugh, but it's a whole different drinking experience).
Anyway, this may continue later, but better get on... | comments: Leave a comment |
| Kay all, diaries out.
Looks like Sweet Street is having another ground breaking party of the century. This time the theme is "breaking boundries" so everyone has to do something they've never done before at the party.
I might not get horrendously drunk and make a complete tit of myself... :p
Provisional date is Saturday 24th of March. Subject to change at Sweet Street discresion.

| I'm going to see Arcade Fire in Utrecht for my birthday, as part of a weekend in Amsterdam. Its gonna be fucking ace!
Also hopefully going to Glastonbury this year. Wanted to go for ages, but it feels like about time I actually went and the line-up already seems promising (even though I can imagine its very much speculative at the moment). Gonna register tonight.
Had the cold last week, which contrary to popular belief was quite good fun. Just wrapped up in my duvet on the couch with Joe and got baked for two days. Felt like shit, but it was relaxing and kinda surreal hiding away from the world. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
| Kay, this may seem like the most random fucking question ever but I just thought of it on the way home from work and I can't stop thinking about it now. Think sips_of_cokes MSM name may have been a subliminal trigger now I look at it.
Anyhoo, see that bloke Topher that goes out with that lady Sheena, you know, that boy who just wont wait his turn or something (those of you who know them will know them, those of you who don't might as well just stop reading and go do something usefull and fullfilling with your lives instead of reading my pointless drivel). See Topher? Is his real name Christopher and he just doesn't want to be another Chris? Whenever I've met him in the past I've been wary of him due to my rhyming fears (Topher, Gopher (see Caddyshack for fear), Loafer (rubbish shoes) etc), and due to the fact I've never come across a Topher before, but if my thinking is correct and its just like, say, me calling Joe Sef instead of Joe then things make alot more sense. Although if I started calling Joe Sef instead of Joe I don't think he'd like it. I might try it for a few days and see what happens so as to access the seriousness of the overall situation.
Anyhoo, gonna go to the gym and think about it until I start laughing and everyone looks at me. I do that alot. Especially when swimming. Then I loose concentration and water goes up my nose and I choke and make a mini-scene out of myself and have to go home...
You know what would be really silly. If his names not even Topher and its actually Bob or something and I've just got myself totally mixed up. I haven't actually spoken to him much and have only overheard his name in the past and assumed thats what it is. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Question:
Anyone know of any good dvd burning software for burning HDTV files off the web (i.e. EZTV Lost & 24 episodes). I've been using WinDVD for ages, but since the introduction of this blasted new high definition video, whenever I burn files to a dvd theres no sound.
Anyone else had this problem and been able to amend it? | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |

| Hmm, went to see Perfume tonight.
It's about this French nutter in the 17th century who was obsessed with smell and came out of a rather shitty life of slavery to work as for Dustin Hoffman (in captain hook style wigs and make-up) making perfume in Paris. However, he wanted to find the ultimate smell which he believed to be human scent, so, long story short, he becomes a serial killer and goes out killing pretty girls and boiling them up like you would a rose petal in order to get there essential oils.
Was good. I think that on average I really liked it. Wasn't to sure at all at the start, but then it got really good and I got really into it. Then the end just seemed totally bizarre and pointless, but at least made it rather memorable. I think if they'd left out the last 15 minutes it would have had good standing as a very good film (even tho it had some dodgy accents).
Anyone else seen it?
Had a really nice day today. Got up, went down and sat with Joe and had a few joints with some weed we found under the sofa (found nearly half an 1/8 of weed just lying there, think it was from new year) and then made a whole array of buscuits and sweets with packs we got at xmas. Took all afternoon but was ace fun and very relaxed. Then Carly came round and me and her went to the cinema while Joe went to work, then went and had some food and met Joe from work at 9 and headed back up to ours.
Think my head very much appreciated it. Since New Year pretty much I've been in this kinda haze of deep thought and contemplation of what this year is going to bring me. Admittedly, got truely baked solidly from Hogmanay through till about the 4th which isn't great for getting the blues, but it does give you alot of time to contemplate. Sat and watched about 30 odd episodes of planet earth and the blue planet (back to back on UKTV History :D) which also lets you think (especially when its viewing number 4 of some episodes).
But yeh, basically have come to the conclusion tonight that unless theres some miraculous turnaround in my life in Aberdeen, gonna make a move for pastures new when the lease on my current flat runs out at the end of the summer. Have spent most of my holiday fretting about going back to work, so although i've talked myself into believing I like working there, underneath it i'm obviously still not happy and theres no point sitting about getting up tight and moaning about it. Also, no offence to all you chaps and chapets out there in the Don whom I occasionally see, but I think once all my flatmates move theres literally gonna be fuck all left for me in Aberdeen. 6 1/2 years has fairly exhasted its resources. All my original mates up here i've either lost contact with or they've moved away and once the group i'm mates with just now graduate this summer they're all planning on going travelling or moving away down south or generally just anything thats not staying in Aberdeen.
A lots changed in my life in the last year or so too. Infact, since I started my degree I'm a completely different person. But the majority of the change has gone down in the last 2 years. I miss lots of aspects of the way things were, obviously, and i'm not entirly happy with any of the changes in my life, but thats life and changes happen.
Starting to bumble on speaking shit now so gonna stop before I loose another 3 days of my life looking distantly out the window. Gotta get up pretty early tomorrow and go out to my Grans and then going to Fife with my dad. Gotta pick up the car from my mums so gonna do that, but take my camera and cruise leisurly back up and stop and take some picks (depending on the weather). Then Monday its back to work. Yay...
Looked on Monster.co.uk for webdesign jobs. Loads out there al over the place and they pay double what i'm on just now (no mean feat considering the piss poor wage i'm on). At least I can focus on getting through the next few months and building my portfolio up and then leave and never look back. | comments: Leave a comment |
